Here be life with Anna

Social Sunday

Yesterday was a very social day.  But before we get the the visiting, check out the clever use Paul put this toy to.

By putting the toy around Anna’s ankle, we got to eat our breakfast while she studied the situation.  I recommend this ‘parent hack’ for a distraction that lasts for about 2-3 pancakes.

After breakfast and market we were off to a neighbor’s house down the street.  One of their daughters got married yesterday and they had invited us and other neighbors to the post wedding brunch.  As it was a post wedding brunch, we got all spiffied up.

Well, truth in disclosure leads me to say that Paul and Anna were very spiffy and me, not so much.  Anna charmed many and enjoyed the various other kids.  The brunch was followed by a nap—for all of us. Then Paul kept an eye on Anna while I got dinner together for Sunday dinner at our house.  This picture is to me irresistibly cute.   I like to think of it as a tribute to Karen Land’s story about her grandma’s head cheese pot.  I don’t think Paul had the story in mind—he was just attempting to keep Anna entertained

This week in addition to Steve, Karen came over with Rupert.  Since Anna had been having a fussy late afternoon, Rupert was a welcome distraction (for her parents at least).  She pulled his collar while he kept a very close eye on the cat who was Not Pleased with the situation.

Two different events in one day made for a very social day.  To top it off yesterday’s social whirl, there was another party this evening.  Tomorrow night, it’s going to be just the family.
